Curtis Sadler of Fort Worth, Texas has been a guest for over 5 years now. We have watched his children, Riley and Lee grow up with us. Today was a wonderful day of deep-sea fishing. We headed south of Orange Beach on a 6 hour trip. We hoped that the Red Snappers would be biting.
We were trolling out when one of the big Penn 50 reels went off making the drag scream. We knew that this was no ordinary fish. It was pulling harder than our normal King Mackerel. Lee quickly jumped up and started reeling. One handed, two handed, sideways or anyway he could turn the handle, Lee had his hands full. We laughed and cheered him on as the long battle went on. Lee got the monster Jack Crevalle up to the boat. Lem leadered the fish up and I placed the gaff gently in to fish and pulled him on board. It was a fish of a lifetime for Lee.
We kept heading offshore and stared reef fishing for Red Snapper. Riley did not take long before she had here first Red Snapper hooked up on light tackle. Curtis, Lee and Barry all had their hands full fighting these nice sized snapper.
We look forward to another year of watching Lee and Riley grow up and come back with us again.
