Today was a wonderful day on the Gulf of Mexico, just south of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Dan Broussard, a long time friend was in town to marry off his youngest daughter. This trip was about the groom and watching them catch some big fish and have some fun.
We headed offshore at 7 am and went out to our favorite shark fishing spot. We caught and released a few Red Snappers. That offered a lot of light tackle action for these young men. Two of which are Troy State University football players. The fishing was red hot. We ended up hooking a nice shark early and it took us a while to get him up to the boat. It just about whipped Terence. He finally broke it off.
We went back to the spot and kept fishing. It did not take long before we reeled up a Red Snapper that was bitten half into. The next snapper did not do so well. On the way up, a big shark was waiting patiently underneath the charter boat. When the timing was right, he ate the snapper before he could get it up to the boat.
This fight lasted about 40 minutes and we had a blast with this monster shark. We photographed him and let him go to be caught anothe day.
