Gary Broussard is a lifelong friend who brought his boys deep sea fishing. We headed south of Orange Beach for an afternoon these boys would never forget. We put the high speed trollers out as we cruised offshore for some good ole fashioned light tackle fishing.
We pulled up on our first spot and Lem got these young men educated on how to use our light tackle gear. The first drop was amazing. Everyone's rods were bowed over and these young men were fighting to hang on to their fish. We lost every fish that bit on that first drop. The larger Red Snappers were biting and had no plans of getting caught. Evan hooked up a nice shark that gave him a fight that he will never forget.
The fish bite slowed and we moved to another artificial reef nearby to see if the Broussard boys and their friends could have some fun. We pulled up on the reef and the fish were not marking good on the meter, but we did see a few. Everyone dropped their lines and again, they were all bowed over with a good fish. We had some fun watching all of these young men fight some fish.
The afternoon went extremely well. We caught more fish in a short period of time than these guys could imagine.
Gary's boys are Webb, Jacob and Evan. Their friends were James Allen and Trey. They did not realize light tackle fishing in Orange Beach could be as explosive as it was.
