Gulf Shores Fishing Charters with Len Anspach

Len Anspach saw an opportunity to get his family together the day after Christmas in Gulf Shores for their first annual deep sea fishing trip.  The weather was right and the seas were almost calm.  We headed out about 8 a.m. this morning in search of a school of large Bull Redfish.  We went east, away from Gulf Shores and worked our way offshore about 1 1/2 miles.  We saw birds working, diving and catching bait on the surface.  We pulled our lures through the schools of bait and we did not get  a bite.   We worked hard, chasing the birds and going to areas where we have caught Bull Redfish before.

After about an hour, we caught our first Redfish and he was close to 24 pounds.   We got some really nice pictures before we released him.   We circled around hoping to get another bite and it did not happen.  We kept moving east and we ran across a small school where we hooked and fought another one.  Layne got a good fight but the fish spit the hook just before we got it up to the boat to be netted.

We found another large Redfish and Landon had his hands full.   We kept circling around and trying to keep up with the school of Redfish and it was tough.   We ended up with two nice Redfish and some great memories.  We are looking forward to our next trip.
